Match the Pattern with Visual Discrimination Task Cards

These Visual Discrimination Pattern Matching Cards will help your students with their reading fluency. Students will take a card and use manipulatives to create the same pattern on the other side. Or they can use markers, crayons, or a pencil and create the pattern.

These work great as a center activity and can be done independently. I suggest laminating the cards back to back so that the students can do the activity over and over again.

How does Visual Discrimination help with reading?

The ability to discriminate or classify objects based on patterns, colors, details,

texture, or size. This helps students with their reading fluency skills. Practicing Visual Discrimination will help students see similarities and differences in words

Included in the unit are 36 FULL SIZE COLOR cards and the cards get harder as the number on the card increases. These can also be differentiated for the different levels in your class. They grow with the level of the child.
